Breckenridge Attractions

Unlike many ski resorts that have to fabricate their character brick by brick, Breckenridge is the oldest town in Summit County and still sports a good deal of its original Victorian architecture. Designated as a National Historic District, and the largest Historic District in Colorado, the former mining boom town's Main Street is lined with more than 250 quaint buildings that house upscale boutiques, fine galleries, gourmet restaurants and hip nightclubs. Each year, a full calendar of festivals and concerts draws crowds to the Riverwalk Center, a park and amphitheater nestled in the heart of town, including the Breckenridge Music Festival and the National Repertory Orchestra.

Nightlife |
 |
Aspen and Vail get more tabloid press, thanks to their star-studded nightclub scenes, but you are just as likely to spot a famous face at one of Breckenridge's friendly and unpretentious watering holes. "Breck," as the locals call it, is also a popular stop for big-name recording artists on tour, who are known to sit in at Sherpa and Yeti's from time to time. The bars and clubs lining Main Street can get steamy and crowded, and attract diverse mix of twenty-something singles, snowy-haired retirees and nouveau-hippie snowboarders.
